about grass & clovers
Grass & Clovers is a fresh, new and exciting children’s clothing line made of new, vintage and recycled fabrics. Created by Sara Sandler-Greisberg in the spring of 2008, it has quickly become a hit with children and adults alike! Grass & Clovers features tees, tanks and hoodies for both boys and girls; sizes range from 3/6 months up to 8. All pieces are sewn with handmade and individually constructed appliqués - each with raw edges to add folksy charm! Each item is a one-of-a-kind confection!
About Sara Sandler-Greisberg
As a child in the seventies, Sara’s mother designed patchwork quilts and clothing and constantly surrounded her with beautiful and unique fabrics. Sara loved digging into all the big baskets of multi colored swatches (most of these fabrics are used in Grass & Clovers!) and pulling out fabric combinations to make clothing
for her little dolls. Her constant exposure to the craft of sewing created a “fashion bug” at a very early age. Sara designed clothes and read fashion magazines starting at the age of nine! Always artistically minded, she went on to the University of Wisconsin, Madison and majored in painting and photography.
After graduation in 1996, Sara went to work in women’s fashion in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York. As the Sales Manager for lines like Frankie B. and Juicy Couture, she learned the ins and outs of the contemporary market, from the design and production all the way up to PR and sales. In 2006, after over 10 years in the business, Sara gave birth to her beautiful daughter Ava. Having great difficulty finding clothes for Ava that met her aesthetic taste, Sara felt a strong need to get back to her artistic and crafty roots and start designing clothes again. Mixing her love of fashion with the nostalgia of her own childhood, Grass & Clovers was born!
All pieces are individually cut and sewn in Sara’s design studio in Larchmont, NY.
